Textile wall covering

The Ozeaneum in Stralsund, Germany, was constructed by Behnisch architects and opened in July 2008. It is designed as an open house which, analogous to a stone washed round in the ocean, is flooded by visitors and light from all sides.

The building is divided into four individual structures, allocated to the topics of the display concept.

The display hall "Ocean giants" is the focal centre of the museum tour. The approximately 20m high and 30m long room incorporates whales and other ocean giants in their original sizes.

1,265 m² of black-dyed Ceno Style glass material was braced in this hall. The textile wall covering was attached to the customer's existing steel girders using consoles and Ceno Style strip profiles. Basically, the construction is reversible - segmentation is made per assembly section.
